The following article analyzes the surtitling of the contemporary theatrical representation Passing the Bechdel Test (2018), created by the Belgian choreographer and playmaker Jan Martens. The difficulties related to the translation of complex themes, such as gender, identity or ethnic discrimination, are examined.
